Service Agreement
This applies to all new and future orders as of June 24, 2022
We support credit card, cash or check as method of payment. The order will be processed after receiving a 50% deposit. Deposits are non-refundable. Final balance will be due upon completion of book. Estimate will have a range in price. When placed into our accounting software we will input the higher price (Quickbooks does not allow ranges in pricing) but we will keep track of time and adjust the price accordingly upon completion of project. During the restoration process more repairs may be discovered beyond the original contract. Client will be contacted prior to doing any additional repairs. Client has the option to cancel order or pay additional costs to complete the restoration conservation of the book. If client decides to cancel the order, deposit is non-refundable but client is not responsible to pay the remaining balance. If client agrees to pay the extra costs beyond the original contract, a new contract will be created.
Bookbinding is a tedious process taking much time and skill. Sometimes we may be behind on orders due to unexpected repairs on other orders preceding client’s order. By signing this contract, the timeline of completion of book(s) will not be cause for termination of agreed contract. If there is a new deadline (anniversary gift, birthday, holiday gift) outside of the original contract, it will now be considered an expedited order and will require an expedited fee. A new contract will be written to include the expedited charge and agreed upon by both client and business Armaria Bookbindery.
I understand smells may not be entirely removed. Water damage, stains, mildew also may not be repaired. I agree conservation restoration of books is not to make something new but preserve and strengthen the original integrity and value of the book. We maintain the original antique appearance but preserve and strengthen the structure with some aesthetic improvements.
We are not responsible for damage occurred after the book is returned to client or caused by accidents or improper handling and care.
By paying the 50% deposit, we agree to the above Service Agreement.
